Regional Native Public Defense Corporation is a Native-led non-profit organization dedicated to providing specialized criminal defense for members of federally recognized tribes in Northern Minnesota. Established in 2007 through a collaboration between the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe and the White Earth Nation, the firm stands out for its culturally informed, restorative approach to justice and its commitment to addressing the overrepresentation of Native people in the criminal justice system.
Guided by an indigenous worldview, RNPDC focuses on achieving full restoration for clients by not only providing effective courtroom defense but also addressing underlying issues such as historical trauma, relational difficulties, and systemic barriers.
